Summer Time Fun!!

Summer Time!!!
We didn't have anything planned this summer really. We usually go to the Disney parks and stay a couple of days, but I decided to just play it by ear. We did do a lot of random things though. Because I haven't posted all summer I thought that I would put it all together in one big one.
We went bowling with Zach and Jake. We had a really good time and we miss being able to hang out with these guys. They just moved back to T'ville so hopefully we will be able to hang out more often.

Slip n' sliding in the back yard is a lot of fun. We did this a lot this summer.

Then there was skating. I am ashamed to say that this is the 1st time my kids ever went skating. As a kid I lived in the skating rink. This was so much fun and my kids absolutely loved it. We will definitely have to come back often.

We loooove the beach. We like to pack heavy and stay all day. There is just so much to do here.

Alexis and Trey had fun with the sand fleas. They are neat to watch and play with.

Alexis and Trey both took gym class. Alexis didn't want me to take pics of her cause I would embarrass her. I did take some from far away but they turned out too dark. They both loved taking gym. It got them moving. Alexis went to drama camp too.

Celebrating the 4th was fun. We went to the airport and watched the display. They had lots going on. We were able to check out old war planes and they had live entertainment and free drinks and snacks.

Alexis and I had a mommy and me day. I do cherish when we can go out "just the girls." We do girl stuff. Usually we walk the mall and share ice cream and stuff like that. On this day we went to build a bear. Alexis had saved her money and wanted to buy a bear. She also had her ears pierced for the 2nd time. She was so brave. I'm gonna hate it when she chooses to hang at the mall with her friends instead of me. I know it will happen but my heart hopes that day never comes.

Trey on the other hand would rather hang with Daddy any day. He looks up to his dad and wants to be just like him. He said that he wants to mow lawns when he grows up. We had to laugh at that one. Here he is with his BB gun. He shoots at targets not birds and squirrels.

We got to go to the Andretti thrill park with Zack & Jake. This was a lot of fun. We all got to drive go carts, play laser tag, play on paddle boats, and play video games. Play, play, play!!

Summers not over but I'd have to say that the highlight was going to meet my sis in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We got to see lots of different farms. I loved all of the corn fields. Here is a pic of Trey standing in front of a corn field. It was pretty cool.
We stayed in a really nice condo right on the beach. It had several pools and two lazy rivers. Here is Kurt, Alexis, and Trey in the same tube. Having the time of their lives.

Alexis will do anything for a quick buck. She is always holding out her hand after a chore. She made small pillows once to sell at a garage sale and there have probably been 1/2 a dozen other things that she has wanted to make and sell. Ever since she was like 5 she's wanted to have a lemonade stand. I would never let her, convinced that this retired neighborhood wouldn't yield much sales let alone the transits that wonder up and down the street might try to steal her money. While Alexis was squirting some lemon on her fish this weekend she started to read the back of the lemon container. She just loves to read. She saw a recipe for lemonade and asked me if she could make some and I said sure. She asked where the pitcher was and she got busy. She offered me a glass, it was delicious. She then asked if she could have a lemonade stand. She has asked me like a bazillion times before and like I said I would never let her. I thought I would put this fantasy to rest once and for all. I thought, she'll complain of being hot in 30 minutes and call it quits. How wrong I was. There was a garage sale 3 doors down. We put lemonade stand signs up where the garage sale signs were and sat and waited. After about 10 minutes I bought a couple of cups then Darrel bought one. After an hour she still hadn't had any customers. I called my Mom and asked her to please come and buy a cup of lemonade from the stand. My mom is the most reliable person I know. She showed up to buy some of Alexis' homemade lemonade. Then it happened. The customers started to come. First it was the guy mowing the lawn down the street, then the man mowing his lawn across the street, then Ron Norris came buy and made a donation, then the little old lady down the street. I think she is like 90 years old and still driving. I make the kids get out of the road when I see her coming. She bought 1 glass and gave a 10 cent donation. Alexis ended up making $17.00. Guess what Alexis wants to do next weekend?

Happy Summer!!
