Thanksgiving

North Carolina road trip.
I'm so glad that my kids love to take road trips. This was our 3rd road trip this year. It was such a blessing to be able to have Thanksgiving dinner with my sister. Holding my brand new nephew was such a treat. I did have to fight my Mom for him though. We made smores out on my sister's back deck. The weather was perfect for a fire. We were rudely interrupted by a hail storm though. We didn't let that ruin our fun.
We decided to drive up to the mountains and explore around.
This deer was enjoying a snack on the side of the road. She really wasn't too concerned about us. The deer are all over up here in North Carolina. They just walk the streets like stray dogs would in Florida.
This is split rock. It was held up by another rock and you could walk right under it. We chose not to do that. Kinda creepy.

This is Trey, Alexis, me, my sis Diana and her mother in law Jeanie.

Simply a gorgeous day.

The kids enjoyed using this look out thingy ma bob.

I wasn't sure how the kids would like the swinging bridge but to them it was just another bridge. Only it was a mile high!! It was really cool looking down as we trekked across to the other side of Grandfather mountain to continue our climb.

Trey stay away from the edge. What did I tell you. Whew, that was a close one!!

It's all about the climb.

We were actually in the clouds. We could see them drift by us, the kids were fascinated. I was too.

Simply breath taking.

This was the highest point. Beautiful isn't it?? Wow!!
I will always cherish these memories.

On our ride home I missed our exit and had to get off the interstate to turn around. I was so glad we did. This cotton field was so interesting. The cotton looked just like the cotton balls I use to take off my makeup.
Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more.
2 Corinthians 9:15 – "Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!"
